Introducing:Tanning

Jake Morris Group, though a solid name, is now Tanning, and will be playing its first west coast show Feb 21st @ Kelly's Olympian opening for Zouaves and the Double U. Yea I know cool show. So yea. Ok. It's me on foot drums, and guitar and voice, w/ no loop technology or pre recorded bullshit usually associated w/ one man projects these days, damn these kids and their BOSS loopstations and their neon bandanas and whatnots. Not this guy. So if you are local come out. It's a Saturday too.

AND I'm DJ'n Jay Winebrenners Art Opening THIS Tues @ Tiga (where else?) Softness as always but also some theme appropriate prog and jazz and weirdness too.

The Year of the Ox continues to challenge and baffle me.

Onward.

One To Go, Denver

Heyo,
One more show tonight at the Bluebird here in Denver. I left my video guy in Portland by mistake in our brief flyby there after Eugene. Promise to do a nice wrap up chock full o visuals upon return. Travel here was NOT FUN. Oscha did the lions share of the tough drives in the snow and ice on 80 in Wyoming. We still have to go through all of that again to get back. Hopefully if the conditions remain we can at least hit them in daylight this time. Wish us luck, ugh in a perfect world it would be east and and west coastal runs exclusively, except late spring and summer, but yea, no such luck. Trying to stay healthy, but I got a nagging cold hanging around, I'm sure having something to do with being in 80 degree weather and two days later it being 15. Ya think?
Well stay tuned, in a couple more weeks, it'll be Grails tour journal, part deux, live from Cali again!

AND it appears that the elusive Joggers/Pan Tourismos 7" SHOULD be available by SXSW, so that'll give y'all a reason to find me in Austin and buy me a margarita, no?

Toodles

UPDATE! MEAT PUPPETS ARE KILLING IT! DENVER CROWD LARGEST AND MOST RAUCOUS. MY CAMERA IS OUT OF MEMORY STICK SO ALL I CAN SAY IS U SHOULDA BEEN HERE! WE WERE NOT TOO SHABBY OUR DAMN SELVES. HOPE THEY DO THE LOUVIN BROS ENCORE!

Boise, SLC

Boise was umm fine. Bad sound and super smoky. Spoiled by smoke free Cali and Oregon. Got to do some hot tubbing though so all was good in the end. In SLC under the hospitable eye of Mr. Will Sartain. Great guy and the Man in SLC. I believe he even cooked Joggz vegetarian Thanksgiving way back when. Show tonight, and then just one more in Denver. Stay tuned.

Eugene for the Inaugural

Night off, in chilly Eugene. Hospitality galore. Play here Tues night then sleep in our own beds for the first night of Obama's reign, then off to Boise. Petaluma was a blast, went to bed in Sebestapol underneath a gold record of Jackson Browne's Late for the Sky while listening to it on my headphones. Woke up listening to Nick's uncle insisting that the upcoming Grateful Dead tour is gonna go to shit, and he thinks it'll be hilarious. You've been warned.

smell ya later Bush, you dickhead.
